In this way, you can easily identify the appliances that consume a lot of energy and replace them with more energy-efficient ones. You’ll be able to see what your total solar panel production has been, how much energy you have used yourself and how much has been injected back into the grid.

Optimise the use of your solar energy
Once you know what happens with your free solar energy, you’ll be able to manage where and when this energy should be used.
You can choose to receive smart energy alerts in the Niko Home app when there is overproduction. If you are at home, you can manually start appliances such as the washing machine, dryer or dishwasher.
But if you are not at home, you can arrange for Niko Home Control to charge your EV or boost your heating/cooling system and other appliances via the solar mode.
Smart energy notifications
Having insights into your energy consumption and production is important, but what if you don’t want to consult these insights all the time? With Niko Home Control you don’t have to, as it monitors your energy flows for you.
Smart energy alerts for abnormal consumption
Thanks to Niko Home Control's smart alerts, you have 24/7 monitoring of your home and appliances. For example, you will receive notifications via the Niko Home app when abnormal electricity occurs. This helps prevent unpleasant surprises on your energy bill.
You trace snooze consumption or broken devices, for instance when you notice that your freezer is using no energy at all. Or avoid extra costs, as you’ll be notified when you might cause a peak.
Keep an eye on your solar panels
You can also choose to be notified when your solar panels produce more energy than you are using at any one time. When that happens, you can choose to activate appliances like your dish washer or start charging your electric bike.
