With the launch of the Niko Home app version 2.21 and the Niko Home Control software version 2.21, we can proudly present to you the following upgrades.
Upgrade now via the Niko Home app
-
You can now ensure that both your Niko Home app and Niko Home Control installation stay up to date by enabling automatic software updates. With automatic updates, you'll receive new features and bug fixes without the need for manual intervention or annoying upgrade notifications. In short, enabling automatic updates means you no longer need to worry about manual updates.
-
This upgrade lets you specify the desired km range increase you want for your electric vehicle. Niko Home Control will then – intelligently – charge the car in the most cost-effective manner by using solar energy and dynamic tariffs.
You’ll also be able to manage multiple vehicle chargers and benefit from enhanced solar mode charging. -
In addition to single and multiple tariffs, you can now define dynamic tariffs provided you have adapted your contract with your energy provider. By guiding you to use electricity at the most economical times of the day, Niko Home Control delivers a 25% to 30% reduction in your bill. This is particularly beneficial when it comes to automatic EV charging. It's also a useful feature if you want to track your energy consumption in euros (as opposed to kW-hours).
-
It is now possible to connect ABB car chargers, and the latest connectivity boards from the Duco ventilation systems.
-
This upgrade also includes better protection against cybersecurity threats. In fact, Niko has proactively integrated the security requirements of the new Radio Equipment Directive well ahead of the required date, ensuring that your equipment not only has a higher level of security, but is also compliant with future standards.
-
With the latest software upgrade, the integration of your air-conditioning systems with Niko Home Control has become more streamlined and user-friendly.
Previously, connecting an air-conditioning system via the universal HVAC interface product (CoolMaster) required a dedicated Niko Home Control HVAC thermostat in each room to manage the air conditioning. With this upgrade, the need for a Niko Home Control HVAC thermostat is now obsolete. The configuration software has been enhanced to allow you to control your air-conditioning system directly from the Niko Home app or the Digital Black user interface. This change simplifies the installation process and provides a more seamless and intuitive way to manage your home’s climate without the need for additional hardware. -
It’s now easier than ever to erase all the data on your Niko Home Control devices, as a factory reset will delete all the data on your Smart Hub and Connected Controller II, while keeping user details in the cloud.
As of the 2.21 software release of Niko Home Control, there is an important change in the procedure of our service and support for Niko Home Control installations. To comply with future security standards and to further increase the protection of your privacy, we now require your permission to temporarily access the installation during a remote service intervention. Our service team will ask you for a token that provides access to the installation. You can generate the token in the Niko Home app. Go to ‘General Info’ > ‘Customer services’ and click on ‘Allow access to your installation’. The token remains valid for 24 hours.
(*) For information: Please note that while certain features included in this upgrade are currently available free of charge, this may change in the future. Niko will inform you in a timely manner if it does. At that time, you will have the option to: (a) switch to a paid version, (b) continue using the feature(s) with reduced functionality, or (c) to stop using it. Niko cannot guarantee that a free version will always be available.
