Smart plug
A smart Zigbee® plug has a switching contact allowing you to switch the socket outlet on and off. You can command this plug with the button on the device, using the app or using other Zigbee® devices if you programme these to do so. This plug also contains a transmitter and receiver for wireless communication with the wireless smart hub.
In addition, the smart plug has an internal overload protection. This means that the socket outlet switches off automatically if consumption is too high.
You can also use a smart plug in a traditional (non-connected) socket outlet. As such, you can use the device to which it is connected in a routine. Then you can also monitor the device's consumption, as this plug has a built-in consumption meter.
