Download and install the Niko Home app

Download the Niko Home app via Google Play or in the App Store.

Open the Niko Home app and log in with the same e-mail address that you used to register the wireless smart hub on https://mynikohomecontrol.niko.eu .
Tip: You can make optimal use of the Niko Home Control installation if you allow the app access to your location, use of mobile data and to send notifications.

If a new software version is available for the smart hub, the app will ask to perform the upgrade before you continue.
This upgrade can take up to 20 minutes.
If you choose to perform the upgrade later on, you can continue to command the installation, but will not be able to program.
Add the wireless motion detector

In the navigation tab Command you select the room in which the motion detector is located. Click on Add and then on Add device.

Select Motion detectors from the list of devices that you can add.

Click on Add motion detector.

Place the button battery in the motion detector. The Niko Home app will then automatically add the motion detector.
If this is not done automatically you can also add the motion detector using the small button beside the battery. To do so, follow the instructions below.

You must add the motion detectors manually one by one. This may seem like hard work, but then you know exactly which motion detector you are adding and you can allocate an appropriate name in the app.

If the Niko Home app does not automatically add the motion detector, press and hold the small button beside the battery for a minimum of 3 seconds in order to send a signal to the app.

After pressing and holding the small button beside the battery for 3 seconds the red LED on the front of the motion detector will start flashing. This lasts for about 45 seconds.

It can take 2 minutes for the connection to be made. You then go automatically to the next screen in the app.

The motion detector has now been added.
Tip: Give the motion detector a clear and appropriate name so that you can find it easily again later. To do so, click on the Pencil on the right.
Program the wireless motion detector

Click on Continue in order to program the motion detection.

Select the lamps and devices that you want to switch on using motion detection and click on Continue.

Your motion detection has now been set. If necessary, click on Advanced settings in order to modify the standard switch-off delay.
The switch-off delay is the time after the last detected motion after which the
lamps and devices switch off automatically.
This is normally set to 1
minute.

Set the desired number of hours, minutes and seconds. Finally, click on Ready.
Your settings are sent to the wireless smart hub. This may take a few minutes .

You can now (also) activate the motion detection in the app.
Note: You can also always use the app to switch off the lamps and devices manually after switching them on with the motion detector. Therefore, you are not obliged to wait until the set time has passed.
