Loosen dimmer or switch
Decide which dimmers or switches will command the light point (this may comprise several lamps) . Loosen them from the flush-mounting box, without disconnecting the wiring.
Note: Here you can see a push-button dimmer, but you can loosen a dimmer with a rotary button in just the same way.

First undo the central plate using a screwdriver.

Then remove the central plate and the finishing set from the wall.
Note: This method only applies when removing Niko switches with a square central plate (in the range since 2006).

Unscrew the existing dimmer (or switch) from the flush-mounting box and remove the dimmer from the wall without undoing the cabling.

Tip: Take a photo of the current cabling on which you can see which wire is connected to which clamp, making it easy for you to identify the current connection diagram.
