Data and power in one connection
Niko has updated its entire RJ45 connector portfolio (including Cat5e utp/stp, Cat6 utp/stp, and Cat6a utp/stp) and made them PoE type 4 ready. In practice, this means you need just one data cable to supply devices, like laptops, speakers, security cameras and access devices, IP phones, etc. with data and power.

What is PoE?
Before PoE became available, it was necessary to install both an electrical and network/data connection to provide devices with power and join them to the network. PoE delivers these two purposes with just one cable, as network cables can carry data while also supplying electrical power to networked, IP-enabled devices.
Power over Ethernet (PoE) as a technology is useful to power devices such as Wi-Fi access points (WAPs), security cameras, IP telephones (VoIP), building automation and control systems. It’s also a simple and cost-effective way of providing data and power to devices connected via Ethernet.
