-
DALI is a digital (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) way of controlling lighting (DALI control gear such as LED drivers and ballasts).
-
There are two possibilities for controlling DALI drivers in Niko Home Control.
-
Both the Broadcast and Address modules have two outputs (DALI Bus), each of which can have 64 lamps connected. A Niko Home Control installation can control a maximum of 256 DALI luminaires.
-
Knowledge of Niko Home Control is sufficient. You do not need any specific knowledge of DALI.
-
You need the Niko Home Control configuration software to add modules and to search for and link DALI lamps. You can use the Niko Home App and Niko Home Control II app to control DALI lamps and e.g. routines in which DALI lamps are used as well.
-
In Niko Home Control, you can work as you normally would. You use the DALI lamps just like other players in the software. You can use them in groups and actions.
-
You can use a standard 5x1.5mm2 cable (maximum 300 metres) to wire up DALI devices and place them in a linear or star topology.
-
No, the Broadcast and Addressable modules are currently only suitable for controlling DALI lighting (DALI control gear).
-
No, the Broadcast and Addressable modules are currently only suitable for switching DALI lighting on/off or for dimming it.
-
At present, you can use DALI types DT0 through DT7 with the Broadcast and Addressable modules. Lamps/drivers of the DT8 type (colour control gear) cannot yet be used in Niko Home Control.
-
No, at present you cannot use any other products (such as DALI2 sensors) in combination with these interfaces.
-
No. The Niko Home Control DALI interfaces have a built-in power supply for the DALI bus. The use of a separate power supply is not permitted
-
The DALI interfaces are suitable for any Niko Home Control II installation (Bus cabling). The DALI interfaces will not work in older (Niko Home Control I or Nikobus) installations or Niko Home Control for Traditional Wiring.
-
No, at present the software automatically uses DALI Groups in combination with Niko Home Control's logic. DALI scenes are not (yet) being used.
-
For optimum functionality, we recommend only using and programming the modules in Niko Home Control II.
-
No, these are two different bus wires. The Niko Home Control bus wire is used to connect all the controls and sensors to. The DALI bus comes out of the DALI modules and is used to control the DALI drivers.
-
We recommend using a maximum of 256 DALI devices in a single Niko Home Control installation. Multiple DALI devices on a single DALI bus of a Broadcast module count as a single device.
-
There is no maximum number of DALI modules per installation.
-
DALI devices must be found on the DALI bus. This is when they are assigned an address and can be used in an installation. You can add DALI modules to the cabinet beforehand. Adding DALI devices takes place physically in the installation.
